This was the same in Warband, but it wasn't a big issue there because you had background choices that could give you trader skill early on, and Warband had some other good alternatives and cheaper early troop upkeep prices.Ĭ.Early on the ransom rewards don't really outweigh the risk involved in getting them. Once you already have a decent amount of money and are able to start buying trade goods in bulk, then yes, you can afford to ride around just trying to learn the prices. Especially if you have to pay unit wages as well.
Good joke.ī.You already need a substantial amount of money in order to start trading to begin with, and early on you won't be able to afford making mistakes due to ignorance of what sells best where. Especially with the joke armor you start with, and the fact that even a lowly bandit can kill you in one shot. A newbie is TOTALLY going to want to pick that option. Recruiting prisoners early on just gives you an army of bandits, and the only blunt weapon you have early on is a 9 damage joke of a weapon that's only useful vs routing foes. So let's ignore that option because it ceases to be an option at all very quickly. Eventually you can join a faction to get around this issue, but that's assuming the player actually decided to stick with this masochistic experience to get that far. Later on you have more options, but it makes the early game feel confining-Another response that I have to shorten before Steam will let me post my reply-A.After having a certian amount of troops, you can no longer recruit millitia.

New players will not know how to get their troops early on, and this is what they are going to end up having to rely upon.Įscrito originalmente por Azazel:12.Your only real options for getting enough money to pay troop wages and upgrade your and their equipment early on, is trading (which requires prior knowledge to pull off well), or pillaging.
In fact I think you need to examine all your points and see if they hold up for a new player. You also need to look at this from a new players perspective. So your only other choice? Mercenary camps, which presents the problems I just mentioned, and as I said in the next point, being able to afford them isn't easy.

Yes, you can get mercs in taverns, but they are random so making a full force out of them is more trouble than its worth. Early on you have to rely on them because this game locks you out of Warbands recruitment system early on. All you said here was "they are mercenaries" and "get them from taverns instead". Escrito originalmente por Azazel:11.Mercenaries require a lot of cash to buy equipment for, before you buy gear for them they are very cost ineffective and will get outright slaughtered by faction troops-A response that repeats itself too much-Once again you typed far more than you needed to.
